Make SLIME
Make SLIME

Your young scientists will have fun concocting this slime. It's ooey gooey homemade fun!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • white glue (Elmer's)
  • water
  • borax
  • food coloring
  1. Step 1

Put on old clothing before beginning to make SLIME. This recipe may stain clothes.

    In a mixing bowl, combine:

8 oz. white glue (we prefer Elmer's glue-all)
    6 oz. warm water

Mix well with a spoon and set aside.

  2. Step 2

In a separate mixing bowl, combine:

    1 tsp. Borax
1/2 c. water with desired food coloring added

Check out the many different varieties of food coloring. My kids found a box of "neon" food coloring in the grocery store baking aisle.

  3. Step 3

Get ready for the fun! Pour the Borax mixture into the glue mixture and work it with your hands. At first it may seem lumpy, but continue working it until no more liquid is being absorbed.

  4. Step 4

Store in a zip top bag or airtight bowl.

Be careful. Slime will adhere to many surfaces and is not easily removed. It's best to work in a newspaper covered work area and wear old clothing.

Tips & Warnings
  • This is just for fun, don't eat it!
