Don't worry be happy!

Remember the Stuart Smalley skit on SNL, where Stuart sat in front of a mirror in a yellow shirt and blue sweater and said, "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me?" You too can be good enough, smart enough, and doggone it, everyone will like you. This article will show you how to incorporate positive affirmations into your daily life.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A journal or notebook, a writing utensil of your choice, and a preppy sweater to get you in the mood.
  1. Step 1

Let's say you are trying to incorporate exercise into your daily routine. When you begin to exercise, pay attention to any negative, critical thoughts. For example, "I hate exercising, I'll never keep this up, It's not worth it anyways." Once a negative thought pops up, write it down in your journal or notebook.

  2. Step 2

On a new piece of paper, convert the exact negative thoughts into positive affirmations in the present tense. In the above example that could be, "I enjoy exercising, I exercise everyday, I deserve to have a healthy toned body."

  3. Step 3

Pick one of the positive affirmations and write it down ten times. Throughout the day, anytime you find yourself repeating the same negative thoughts to yourself, use the positive affirmation. You don't have to look in a mirror, or say it out loud. Just repeat it to yourself in your head.

Tips & Warnings
  • Writing the present tense affirmation over and over again, helps your mind to shift from your negative thoughts into your newly affirmed positive state of being. All actions originate with a thought, so if you can change your thoughts, you can change your life!
