Work for a Canadian home insurance broker. Make sure that this broker is a member of the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada, and a member of a provincial level broker association. Learn as much as you can about the job. Work here long enough to know how the business works. (See Resources below.)

Step 2
Enroll in the Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) program. Know that there are three ways to complete this program; via correspondence, via online discussions or classroom instruction. Register for this course on its website, see Resources below. Receive your textbooks and study them before you become an active student.

Step 3
Continue working for your Canadian Home Insurance Broker employer. Know that once you complete the CAIB program, you can use this title while you remain employed. Attend home insurance broker related seminars and conferences to improve your job performance. Strive for promotions with your employer.

Step 4
Become a student for the Canadian Professional Insurance Broker (CPIB) program after you gain professional experience. Take its courses involving laws, ethics and theories behind the Canadian home insurance broker's job. Take mandatory courses, which relate to these three specialties; personal insurance, commercial insurance and broker management. Take three elective courses that concentrate on your broker specialty. Receive your CPIB designation after successful completion of this program. (See Resources below.)
