How to Use an XM Radio Account to Listen to Music Online

XM satellite radio is not just for your car. If you subscribe to XM, you can now enjoy your favorite stations on your computer, too. Follow these steps and you'll be listening to XM radio online in a few minutes, enjoying at your computer terminal the same programming variety and eclecticism you've learned to expect while behind the wheel.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Go to the XM Radio website by following the link in Resources. Click on the button at the top right of the page that reads "Listen Online Now."

  2. Step 2

    Log in by typing in your email address and password at the left of the page. Click on the right arrow button.

  3. Step 3

    If you are an XM subscriber but haven't set up an online account, click on the "Activate my account" link.

  4. Step 4

    Once you are logged in, wait for the the page to display all of the channels available on XM radio. At a glance, you can see which stations, artists and songs are playing. The stations are color-coded and grouped by category.

  5. Step 5

    Click on a different station to change the music. You can pause the music or raise or lower the volume. (Occasionally, there will be ads in between the songs.)

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also raise the volume on your computer speakers. You can minimize the XM page and continue working on your computer while you're listening to music.
