How to Cure a Wart With Duct Tape
Warts are made up of living organisms. They can come out of nowhere and they are not always easy to get rid of. Ugly warts can cause embarrassment and they are easily spread to others. When freezing, burning and assorted wart ointments don't work, it's time to pull out a trusty roll of duct tape and take drastic action. Duct tape can be used to remove warts anywhere on the body except the face, genitals or rectum.

Clean the affected area thoroughly with soap, rinse well and dry.

Cut a piece of duct tape to fit completely over the wart; set aside.

Use a Q-tip to apply a coating of tea tree oil directly on the wart. Tea tree oil is a natural anti-fungal ointment. It is also a natural antiseptic that will help keep the area sterile.

Apply the pre-cut duct tape over the wart and press edges firmly to seal the wart from outside air. The idea is to create an airless environment where the living wart virus will be reduced over time. Cover with a flesh-colored Band-Aid to camouflage the duct tape, if desired.

Each day, following your shower or bath, remove the duct tape and inspect the wart. If there is loose material around the wart, lightly rub the area with an emery board. Do not pull or tear at loose skin. Apply a fresh coating of tea tree oil and a fresh piece of duct tape. Concentrate the tea tree oil on loose, surrounding skin and the wart itself, avoiding any open-wound areas that may appear after several days.

Continue the duct tape wart treatment for up to eight weeks as needed. You may repeat the process if the wart reappears. A wart that stubbornly refuses to disappear may require a visit to your doctor or dermatologist.

If the wound appears very red and soggy under the tape, allow it to dry out for a few days and then resume treatment.
Before attempting the duct tape method of wart removal, it is important to be sure it is actually a wart. Consult with a physician if you are not absolutely certain. Do not attempt to remove warts on the face, rectum or genital area through any home wart remedy, including duct tape. Do not use tea tree oil if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if it causes skin irritation, redness, blistering and itching.
