Instructions

    • 1

Select a tree. The tree you use to play host to your tree house should be a deciduous (leafy) tree. Pick a tree that isn't buffeted by a lot of winds. Be sure to also look for one that isn't real close to a lot of other trees.

    • 2

Purchase lumber for the frame. The type of lumber you select isn't important, but make sure that it is suitable for outdoor use.

    • 3

Nail four pieces of lumber together to make the outer perimeter of your tree house frame. Make sure that you construct the boundary around the tree.

    • 4

Dig four holes. Your holes should be approximately 2 feet deep and big enough in diameter to accommodate your poles.

    • 5

Insert a pole into each hole. When you purchased you posts, they should have been the type meant for fence posts.

    • 6

Have your helper lift your boundary frame. While he supports it, nail the boundary to your corner posts.

    • 7

Mix your concrete. The mixture should be three parts gravel, two parts sand and one part cement.

    • 8

Pour the concrete into the holes and allow it to dry. The concrete will hold the poles in place, making the tree house stable and safe for your children.
