Instructions

    • 1

Decide on how many and what type of corner blocks you are going to need. There are "inside" corner blocks that go into the recessed corners of the room. In the places where the walls angle out into the room you will need "outside" corner blocks. Pick the size and style that will compliment the crown molding you will be using with the blocks.

If you are going to use existing crown molding you will need to take it down temporarily. You will need to trim the molding slightly to allow room for the corner blocks. Lay the molding along the section of wall where it came from to help keep things organized.

    • 3

Secure the corner blocks into place using double sided tape. If it does not sit perfectly into the corner you can file the edges until it does. Just be careful not to damage any of the areas that will be showing.

    • 4

Cut the crown molding that will be spanning the length between the first two corner blocks as needed so it will fit snuggly into place. Place a little bit of wood glue on the ends of the crown molding where it connects to the corner blocks. Nail the crown molding into place. Repeat the process until you have gone all the way around the room.

    • 5

Caulk around and between the crown molding pieces with a paintable caulk. Allow it to dry. Finally, paint the molding as desired.
