How to Use the Meebo WebApp to Sign Into All Instant Messenger Networks at Once

The Meebo web application is a lifesaver for people who have multiple online IM identities. The application streamlines all of your IM services and enables you to keep all of your contacts at your fingertips; it also prevents you from needing to download countless IM programs to your computer.

Instructions

1. Go to the Meebo website (follow the link in Resources) and find the "Sign up for my Meebo" box. Fill in the registration forms, along with all of your IM usernames and passwords.

2. Restart your browser and open an extra tab. Load Meebo in the new tab and sign in with your Meebo ID.

3. Wait to be redirected to a Meebo dashboard, which will display all of your online identities and contacts.

4. Send messages by clicking on a contact's name. Your Meebo dashboard will display a new window (although you will not leave that page) for each conversation you begin. A new window will also be displayed for every contact who sends you an instant message.

5. Set your options. You can set different sounds and text alerts, unique to each Instant Messaging service, to notify you of new and updated conversations. Access these options by clicking on the "Options" link near the top of your Meebo dashboard.

Tips & Warnings

• Meebo supports the AOL, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, Jabber and Google Talk instant-message services.

• As soon as you close the window or tab you are using for your Meebo dashboard, you will automatically be signed out of all of your IM networks.
