Step 1
Wait for your opponent to stand up in your full guard. He will do this in order to attempt an escape from being wrapped between your legs. Keep your ankles tightly hooked, as his rising elevates your legs. Your shoulders will still be on the ground.
-
Step 2
Grab both of your opponent's wrists with both hands. It is very important to control his wrists throughout the leg squeeze flip. Press his wrists against your chest.
-
Step 3
Quickly release your full guard. As soon as your opponent stands up you must switch to the leg squeeze. Unhook your feet from around his waist. When your feet drop down below his hips, hook your feet again. Your feet should be right below his rear end and your knees should be right next to his. Do this as fast as you can, since you have little control over your opponent when your legs are unwrapped.
-
Step 4
Squeeze your legs together. This will force your opponent's legs together, making it harder for him to balance.
-
Step 5
Perform the leg squeeze flip. Pull hard with both hands as you raise your knees to your chest. Your opponent will fall forward. Since you control his arms and legs, he has no way to stop. As your opponent comes over the top of you, be sure to roll backward with him. This is important. You must go with the momentum or run the risk of him landing on top of you.
-
Step 6
Unhook your feet and spread your knees as you come over the top. This will set you up for landing on your opponent's torso when you complete the leg squeeze flip. You are now sitting on top of your opponent's body in a full mount. This is a significant improvement of position from the full guard you had him in when you started.
