Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 pieces of fabric cut into 2-inch squares Dried herbs Sewing machine Thread 4 inches of 1/4-inch-wide ribbon
  1. Step 1

Place the pieces of fabric together, printed sides facing each other, and stitch three sides together with a small stitch. Make a half-inch seam and use a beginning and ending backstitch to insure strength.

  2. Step 2

Flip the bag inside out so that the printed sides are now out.

  3. Step 3

Put the herbs of choice inside the bag. You should use approximately 2 tbsp. of herbs.

  4. Step 4

Fold the unsewn edges of the bag inward and sew, backstitching at the beginning and the end of the seam.

  5. Step 5

Set the bag, the newly-stitched seam up, on a surface, moving the herbs into the bottom portion of the bag. Gather the top of the bag and tie the ribbon tightly around it in a bow.

Tips & Warnings
  • These sachets make wonderful stocking stuffers and gifts. Got a cold? Make a sachet of eucalyptus and drop it onto the shower floor as you shower. It will release oils, making it much easier to breathe. Mullein also works well to unstuff noses.
  • These sachets can only be used for about 24 hours; the herbs inside can get moldy if they stay wet.
