Arabic music comes in many forms and is a blanket term for music from countries such as Lebanon, Egypt and Iraq. If you live in the U.S., finding Arabic music online may appear to be a bit challenging. Knowing where to look is the key--there are plenty of places on the Internet to download free MP3 music besides the usual sites. With the right websites under your belt and an air of caution, as downloading music without paying is illegal for the most part, you'll be on your way to downloading Arabic music onto your computer at home.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Check out the 3Arabia Network. This website has Arabic MP3 songs from all different Middle Eastern countries that can be listened to using multiple MP3 computer players. The site is in Arabic, so it'll be very hard to navigate without knowing how to read the language.

  2. Step 2

Go to Altarab. There are many Arabic songs here to download, and you can choose to save each file to your computer or listen to them from the website. This site is also in Arabic, but each website URL is in English and the site can be navigated by looking at those, especially if you recognize the names of the Arabic musicians or know which country's music you want.

  3. Step 3

Use Iraqi Music. There are plenty of Iraqi MP3's to download from this website. As a bonus, if you have a fast internet connection, you can actually listen to the song in your MP3 player while it's downloading to your computer. Iraqi Music also has chat forums that you can use. If you're looking for a particular song or artist, ask the forum.

  4. Step 4

Look at your favorite artist's websites. Some Arabic artists have MP3 versions of their songs on their websites. Egyptian singer Amr Diab has 10 MP3 songs on his website for downloading, for example. Check your favorite Arabic singer's websites for MP3's.

  5. Step 5

Use all the usual music downloading sites and programs. If you're looking for a more traditional approach to finding Arabic mp3 music that doesn't involve reading Arabic, try Kazaa, Limewire, MP3.com or Torrent. You shouldn't have a problem downloading MP3's for free from these websites.

Tips & Warnings
  • Go to iTunes or Rhapsody if you can't find the Arabic music you want for free. What you're looking for might be on these sites for a fee.

on 3/8/2009 Some of these sites seem to be corrupted or offer faulty downloads. I have been able to find high quality, virus free downloads at mp3 rocket: http://my-free-music.info/gadserv.php?APID=204
