How to Check an Australian Driving Record
Australia has more rules when it comes to obtaining a driver's license than the US, and some rules differ depending on the territory you're in. With all these complications, it's easy to make mistakes when driving. If you want to see your driving history or need a copy of your Australian driving record for other reasons, there are a number of places online you can go to obtain your record. Some of these are specific to particular regions, so you might have to check with your territory for more options.

1
Make sure to have all the necessary papers handy before your search. To apply for a copy of an Australian driving record, you'll need your driver's license or papers that prove you have a license, and you'll usually need to fill out an application and pay a fee.

2
Access Australian driving records from the RTA page (see Resources). If you live in North South Wales, you can order a copy of your driving report from their page called "myRecords." Create an online account in the system, and you'll be able to order a copy of your Australian record for $18. It will be mailed to your house.

3
Talk to your respective government and ask for a driving report. Not all government websites have links online that allow you to see your Australian driving record. Find out the phone number of your local government's office and ask how you can check driving records in your area of Australia.

Use Free Records Registry website (see Resources). This is a good option if you don't want to go through the government or if you want to check driving records often, and not just your own. Free Records Registry has three membership options, the longest being lifetime for one price. This way, you can check driving records in Australia whenever you want.

Use the VicRoads online payment system to obtain an Australian driving record. You'll get a driving history report for the past five years, and the record only costs about $8. Pay by credit card or other online system, and VicRoads will mail the report to the address on your license within seven days.
