How to Dispose of Unwanted Computers

Eventually everyone who owns a computer will need to dispose of it in one way or another. Usually, this decision is made with replacing it in mind, and upgrading to a newer, better, faster system.
So, what is to become of the old one? Consider giving it to a relative or friend, or even to someone you don't know. Your old computer will be valuable to someone else, even if it is no longer of use to you. You can also contact a professional recycling company.
There are many options available, and it is so important that you do not just throw it out with the trash. Computers pose threats to the environment because they contain precious metals such as gold and silver. Heavy metals are hazardous to ground water and other environmental concerns when they are not properly disposed of.
Anything thrown out in the garbage or trash ultimately ends up at a landfill. Whether you have your computer recycled, or give it to someone else, you're setting a good example and doing your part as a conscientious computer owner.
