How to Add an Image With Adobe Dreamweaver

Adobe Dreamweaver is a great way to design websites. One thing that Adobe Dreamweaver does very well is allow users to add images to existing website content. These images can be anything from photos, graphs, charts, cartoons, to anything else that is saved as a .jpg or .gif file. Adobe Dreamweaver makes it easy to add images to any webpage.

Things You'll Need

• Adobe Dreamweaver Image in .jpg or .gif form

Instructions

1. 

   Open a new Dreamweaver document. Click on "File." Select "New."

2. 

   Select a blank page "HTML" document. Choose "<None>" for Layout type.

3. 

   Insert an image. You can do this two ways. First select the icon on the "Common" bar and then select "Image" (see image). Or select "Insert" from the menu bar and then select "Image."

4. 

   Find an image on your computer that you want to add to your webpage. You should use .gif or .jpg files because they are universally accepted.

5. 

   Type alternate text that describes your image. Alternate text describes the image and acts as a placeholder on a webpage that does not display images. Click "OK."

6. 

   Image appears on the page.

7. 

   Save your file. Click "File," then "Save."

Tips & Warnings

• You can add as many pictures as you want to your webpage.

• Large image files take longer to load, so It is best to resize your images before you put them on your webpage.
