1
Start from the simplest method for labor induction. In order for the labor to start, your cervix needs to be thinned out and open. Your doctor will place a special gel into your vagina to help the cervix ripened. This procedure is painless.

2
Break your water if your water is not broken yet. This will help to start the contractions. Your doctor will use a special tool to rupture the amniotic sac. It maybe unpleasant during and after the procedure. If the contractions do not start after 3 to 4 hours, another induction method must be used.
