Things You'll Need:
- Plain indoor/outdoor carpet doormat Fabric paints Paint brush
-
Step 1
Paint an Easter bunny in the center of the mat. Use a picture of a bunny in a book or magazine and outline the bunny. Then paint him in and have him holding a basket or put a basket in front of him. Paint some lines coming out of the basket to look like Easter grass.
-
Step 2
Paint "HAPPY EASTER" toward the top of the mat over the bunny. Use a different pastel color for each letter.
-
Step 3
Paint a pastel color border around the outside of the doormat. Use a bunch of squiggly lines in different colors. Go around the entire outside of the mat a few times. It should look like more Easter grass.
-
Step 4
Draw on Easter eggs on the rest of the mat. Outline them and then paint them as you would dye regular eggs. Make each egg a different design. This is where you can get the kids involved. Let them all do a few eggs. Let the paint dry completely overnight before you put the mat outside.
