Picture frames do not always have to come from a store. Sometimes you can make your own. A good time to do this is when you have an unusual-size picture and no store frame will fit, or you just can't find the right theme for the photo in question. Making a frame for yourself can be just the touch you need for that special picture.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Flat pieces of cardboard Tissue paper in different colors (the kind you use for presents) White glue Knife Tape
  1. Step 1

Find the right size piece of cardboard for the frame you want. Cut it out to make sure that the corners are square.

  2. Step 2

Place the photo on the piece of board, and mark where you want the hole for the frame. Remember to mark the hole so you do not cut out the exact size of the photo. The hole will need to be slightly smaller so that the photo edges will not fall through the frame.

  3. Step 3

Use the knife to cut out the place marked for the hole. Before you go any further, put the picture up to the frame again to make sure you didn't cut it too big.

  4. Step 4

Decorate the frame. Tear the tissue paper into strips of different sizes and shapes. Use the white glue to secure them flat to the frame, covering the front, sides and inside the inner hole.

  5. Step 5

Tear more tissue paper into little pieces. Roll each piece into a ball.

  6. Step 6

Glue the balls of paper to the frame covering the entire cardboard front and sides. You can put these on randomly or organize them by color to create mosaics.

  7. Step 7

Secure the picture to the back of the frame with a little tape. Your frame is done.
