A desire to improve the environment around you is not only admirable, but can make a world of difference in the world you live in. Because environmental causes can be seen on the news almost every day, there numerous environmental causes have sprung up as a result.
Finding the right environmental charity can be challenging if you don't do the leg work to start. This article will give you some tips on how to find the right environmental charity to suit your needs.

      Determine how much time you want to spend on charity work each day, week or month. Do you have a couple of hours or can you spend a weekend working on environmental causes?

      Evaluate what cause is most important to you. Are you passionate about your local environment, environmental issues of your state or national and global environmental causes. Are you passionate about recycling, global warming or urban scrawl?

      Watch your evening and morning news to learn about environmental causes. Many groups have their causes announced on the news. You'll find environmental groups picking up trash, clearing invasive plants and starting recycling programs looking for volunteers. The news will give you the name of the group and a way of contacting them.

      Log on to charitynavigator.org. This web service evaluates a charities finances and provides valuable contact information as well as how they make their charitable donations.

      Contact your local zoo and ask if they have a charity they prefer to work with.

      Log on to your local government website to see what environmental charities they work with. Most often, local governments have a partner for recycling, animal rescue or other relevant environmental issues.
