How to Throw a White Trash Party
One of the easiest and most fun theme parties to throw is also one of simplest. The White Trash Party has become an all time favorite for Halloween, birthdays and anytime you want to check into your inner trashy self. An imagination, easy going invite list and the ability to poke fun of yourself is the key to throwing a wildly fun and successful white trash party. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Determine your invitation list. You truly only want to invite people who have a good sense of humor and like to be creative. The wound up, overly liberal friend may take offense and feel that you are having fun at another's misfortune. This is not the case. We all have questionable family members. But if your invite list is 90 percent uptight humorless people, have a fundraiser for a good cause instead.

2
Be specific on your expectations. Your invite should clearly state what kind of party you are having, the type of costumes you want and if there are contests for best food, drink or outfit.

3
Decorate your party area. While costumes and food add to the overall atmosphere of a white trash party, your decor will put your guests into the white trash environment. If your party is outside, string up a clothesline and hang up lots of underwear. Head to your local thrift store for some inexpensive undergarments that can be stained and mangled and hung to dry. Serve food on hubcaps and collect old liquor bottles and place fake flowers around. A favorite item is the stacked tire coffee table. Another crowd pleaser is the toilet bowl planter.

4
Serve 70s food. Although the 70's were filled with high end disco fun, modern furniture and gold chains, nothing says trash party like fish sticks and tater tot casserole. Be creative with Spam and crackers and don't forget canned cheese.
-
5
Create the mood with music. Any good trash party will have a mixture of disco, hard rock and country. However, the big song you have to have on your playlist is Lynard Skynard's "Free Bird." It will be a true Bic lighter moment.
