Are you someone who likes to have pictures on your desk but hates the space they take up? Then ditch your old pen caddy and make a personalized one using pictures you like to display. Your desk will be tidy and organized and your pictures will be displayed without wasting valuable space.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cardboard or similar container that had nuts or potato chips in it (short, wider containers work best) Knife/craft scissors/razor blade Glue stick Mild soap Photos Pictures from magazines
  1. Step 1

Empty a container holding nuts or potato chips and clean with a mild soap and allow it to dry.

If it is a long container use a knife, scissors or razor blade to cut in half.

  2. Step 2

Select pictures you would like to place on your pen caddy. Place them over the side of the container and trim them so they will fit.

If the caddy will be used on a child's desk, let them select the pictures that will be used. Let them cut out pictures of their favorite celebrities from teen magazines.

  3. Step 3

Using a glue stick, rub glue evenly over the back of the first picture and place it on the container. Press the picture firmly and smooth out any wrinkles.

Repeat until the outside of the container is covered with the pictures you selected. Place on your desk and fill with pens, pencils, scissors, staple removers and/or other office items.

Tips & Warnings
  • The glue will bond better on a cardboard or paper-based container.
  • If you have to cut the container make sure it is smooth. Use extreme caution if using a razor blade. Do not use metal or a metal-based container if cutting will be required.
