How to Make Cooked Flour Molding Paste

Molding pastes are ideal for shaping paper and holding it together. A good example of this is papier-mache. With papier-mache, you create a sculpture out of paper, and the molding paste holds the whole piece together. Besides papier-mache, you can also use molding paste as you would use regular glue. For example, when making a collage by sticking pieces of paper onto poster board, you could use this paste to hold everything together. The recipe is simple, and you can store it for later use.

Things You'll Need

• 1/2 cup flour 2 tbsp. granulated sugar 2 cups water

Instructions

1. In a medium saucepan, stir together 1/2 cup plain white flour, 2 tbsp. granulated sugar and 2 cups water.

2. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly until it boils. If you don't stir, the mixture may burn and you'll have to start over.

3. Once the mixture is boiling, continue cooking and stirring until it becomes thick and smooth.

4. Remove your molding paste from the heat and stir a bit more to help it cool.

5. Use your molding paste as soon as it cools completely. To save it for later, store it in an air-tight container in the refrigerator.
