How to Do a Stoppie in "Grand Theft Auto IV"

In "Grand Theft Auto IV," you will be tempted to do different types of motorcycle stunts. One you can execute is a "stoppie," a stunt in which you ride only on the front tire of the motorcycle as you come to a stop. It can be done on a motorcycle or the Faggio moped.

Instructions

    • 1

Find a motorcycle or moped. The NRG-900 is the best motorcycle to use to complete most stunts, as it is lighter and faster than any other motorcycle. To increase the difficulty and fun, you can try this on a Faggio moped. You can steal a NRG-900 from the motorcycle dealership in Alderney between the Leftwood and Westdyke neighborhoods. The Faggio can be found on the streets near Middle Park in Algonquin or at the Francis International Airport.

Find a straightaway in Liberty City that does not have any steep hills. The westbound lane of Grand Boulevard in Bohan, which leads to the Northwood Heights Bridge, is an ideal location. You can also go to any of the bridges in Liberty City so long as there is minimal traffic.

    • 3

Accelerate to full speed. Once you are on a straightaway, press and hold "RT" to accelerate to full speed. Drive down the middle of the road to avoid crashing into traffic.

    • 4

Press up on the left thumbstick and brake. As soon as you've peaked your speed, quickly press and hold "LT" to brake. Simultaneously press and hold up on the left thumbstick. This will cause your motorcycle to ride on its front wheel until you come to a complete stop.

Tips & Warnings

  • When performing a stoppie, be sure to hold the left thumbstick straight up so the motorcycle does not turn.
