Instructions

Remove any flaps or lid from the top of the box. Turn it upside down. Use a craft knife to cut a rectangular hole from the bottom of the box. The hole needs to be large enough to comfortably slide over the child's head and torso.

    • 2

Paint the box in a race car color. Use spray paint or any paint you have lying around. Allow the paint to dry completely.

    • 3

Cut headlights, numbers and racing stripes for adding to the car. Cut these out of construction paper. Glue the items onto the car.

    • 4

Poke holes in the center of each plastic plate. Poke similar holes through the cardboard where you want to attach four of the plates as tires and one as a steering wheel. Attach the plates using the metal paper fasteners. This will allow the steering wheel and tires to spin.

Attach suspenders and rope so that the child can strap the car on and go. Otherwise, the kids can simply grab onto the edges of their race cars.
