Host an Oscar Party

Each year, everyday people are attracted to the glitz and glamour of the Academy Awards. While celebrities and their dates attend the Oscars in Hollywood, make your friends feel like stars by hosting your own Oscar Party. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Send invitations to guests. To stick to the Oscar theme, create an invitation that looks like an awards envelope. Seal the envelope with a gold sticker and write, "And the Oscar goes to..." on the exterior of the envelope. Encourage guests to dress in Oscar attire.

    • 2

When guests arrive, provide a paparazzi experience. Take digital or Polaroid pictures of guests as they arrive.

    • 3

Provide each guest with a ballot to predict the Oscar winners. Ask each guest to complete a ballot before the show begins. Keep track of the number of correct predictions throughout the show.

    • 4

Make sure each guest has a seat with a good view of the television.

    • 5

Serve an award-winning menu of appetizers and cocktails. Shrimp cocktail, fondue and chocolate-covered strawberries are great additions to the menu.

    • 6

Present your own award to the guest who was able to predict the most Oscar wins. Ask the winner to give an acceptance speech when he receives his award.

Tips & Warnings

  • Serve non-alcoholic beverages in addition to cocktails.

Your facts are not well formed. First of all, the Hurt Locker winning would not be an upset -- it is favored to win. Second, you cannot slap a gold seal on the back of an envelope and mail it per postal regs. Third, Poloroid? Really? Been out of business for some time and you cannot purchase the film. The award for a poorly executed (and written) article ... goes to you :)
