Things You'll Need:
- Boots Jeans Socks
-
Step 1
Opt for boots that stop right below the knee. Boots that are shorter tend to make legs look shorter and taller boots may look uncomfortable. Those that hit right at the knee or right below look the best when tucked into jeans.
-
Step 2
Look for boots that are all one shade and that have a bit or stretch or give to the material. This stretch enables the boots to conform to the extra weight of the jeans without looking too bulky or overstuffed. In addition, the one shade or color of the boots will make your legs look longer.
-
Step 3
Pick skinny jeans that hug your curves and have a straight leg or tighten in around the ankles. These jeans won't bunch up under the boots like heavier denim pants will and they won't disrupt the overall look or feel that you're trying to achieve.
-
Step 4
Pull on the jeans and add a pair of socks over the jeans. You'll want to pull up the socks as high as they'll go and over the top of the jeans. This keeps the jeans in place and keeps them from sliding out of the boots or bunching up later.
-
Step 5
Tuck the jeans into the boots by firmly holding onto the bottom of the jeans while pulling on the boots. Slip your hand into the bottom of the jeans to make sure they're still in place. Check out how the boots and jeans look together and see if there's any bunching. If there is, you can slip your hand inside the boots and straighten out the denim.
