Step 1
Keep your theme in mind. This will be a big factor when choosing your ceremony site. If you are having a traditionally themed Christmas wedding, then a religious site may be a wonderful option. If you are going with a more informal and untraditional theme, then a different site may need to be chosen.
-
Step 2
Consider indoor sites. This is especially important if you live in an area that is cold during the winter. If you're having a destination wedding, an outdoor wedding may be fine. However, unless you want to freeze out in the elements during your ceremony, an indoor site is probably the best choice for a Christmas wedding.
-
Step 3
Check out the existing decorations. Many ceremony sites will already have some decorations for Christmas. Take the time to check them out. They may work well with your wedding decor and theme; however, you don't want to choose a site with horrendous decorations that you'll have to remove for your wedding and then put back.
-
Step 4
Ensure the site isn't busy on the date you've picked. During the holidays many different events are going on. Other weddings, special gatherings or even Christmas celebrations may be planned for the ceremony site you are considering. Make sure that you won't be cramped for time by another event that is going on the same day
-
Step 5
Take location into consideration. There's a chance that there may be bad weather on your Christmas wedding day. You don't want a ceremony site that is an hour away from your reception site, especially if the roads are treacherous. Go with a site that is close to the reception site or even choose a ceremony site that has an area for your reception.
-
Step 6
Find out if you can add your own Christmas decorations. There may be some ceremony sites that won't want you to add the decorations you want for your Christmas weddings. Make sure that you can decorate the area the way that you want to before you decide that it is the right site for you.
