Step 1
Find volunteers. Running a pug rescue or any type of rescue organization takes people helping other people to make it work. You'll need other like-minded people to help out with the vast number of responsibilities to make it work successfully.
-
Step 2
Start a website. A website will help get your organization noticed by a number of people online. Also, people who need to place their pug or ones that want to adopt can find your ad online and learn more about your organization.
-
Step 3
Get sponsors. Sponsors can help defray the cost of things such as website building and advertising. Since you are a non-profit, you can also save money through tax deductions and charitable contributions.
-
Step 4
Let the local humane society know that you are available. Find the humane society in Ontario and tell them about your cause. This way, they can call you when a pug needs to be adopted and you can get the word out to more people through your pug rescue group.
-
Step 5
Learn the difference between adoptions and fostering and offer both. Adoptions are for placing pugs in forever homes and you can charge a fee for this to help with the cost of running your organization. A foster will be someone who takes in pugs until a forever home can be found. (There is no charge to the foster parent.)
-
Step 6
Set up information on your website. Give as much information as you can to potential adopters or foster parents. Submit your site to the Pug Rescue so that more people in your area of Ontario will see your pug rescue efforts.
-
Step 7
Spend money on advertisements. Advertise your pug rescue or have a fun raiser to help market your rescue services. You may potentially adopt more dogs on the day.
