Braids are a creative and low maintenance hair do for people wanting a convenient, and protective style. Daily combing, brushing, and styling can cause damage. While braids protect hair from such pulling and manipulation. Even though there isn't as much damage, there is still build up and hair product on the scalp. Therefore washing your hair while in braids is a must to avoid breakage and hair loss.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Water Clarifying shampoo Leave-in conditioner Blow dryer
  1. Step 1

    Massage your scalp. Before washing your hair massage your scalp vigorously. Be careful not to scratch, by using the balls of your finger tips.

  2. Step 2

    Rinse your scalp. Rinse your hair, concentrating on the scalp, while still massaging it. This will loosen dirt and oil that has accumulated in your hair.

  3. Step 3

    Take a clarifying shampoo, and rub it into your scalp allowing a decent lather to accumulate. Also make sure the roots of your hair, are getting cleansed. Perform this once, or twice depending on whether or not you have heavy build up.

  4. Step 4

    After you rinse your hair, apply a leave-in conditioner to the scalp and roots. You can blow or air dry after you are done.
