Make an Easy Cranberry Wreath

Cranberry wreaths may look elaborate and exotic, but they are actually not difficult to make. Create several to give away as gifts, or hang different sizes on your wall for a themed holiday look. Cranberry wreaths are great fall decorations as well as Christmas ornaments, and you can enjoy this wall decor long after the tree and the garland have come down.

    Instructions

    Things You'll Need

    • Bag of cranberries Toothpicks Gold glitter spray paint Styrofoam wreath Thick gold ribbon Tacky craft glue
      • 1

Break the toothpicks in half. You can cut them or just break them with your fingers. The ends may be slightly jagged, though, so be sure not to get splinters.

      • 2

Spray paint about a third of the cranberries with gold glitter paint. Do this in a well ventilated area if you cannot work outside. Do not paint them heavily, and do not worry about getting total coverage. The important thing is just to add some shine to some of the berries for extra dimension on the wreath.

      • 3

Poke a toothpick into each cranberry. It should stick securely, and at least half of the toothpick should stick out of the cranberry.

      • 4

Stick the cranberries randomly into the Styrofoam wreath. They should be as close together as possible so that no Styrofoam is showing. Place a small dot of glue next to the place where the toothpick sticks in the cranberry for added security. Cover the entire front of the wreath with cranberries, but leave the back of the wreath empty so that the wreath will hang flat against the wall. Allow the glue time to set before moving on.

      • 5

Tie a large loop of ribbon around the top of the wreath. This will be your hanger as well as a decorative bow. Leave long tails on the bow and cut notched or slanted ends to make the wreath more festive.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Use a few pieces of popcorn as well as cranberries to add some diversity to your wreath.

    • Do not hang the wreath where it is accessible to young children or pets who might try to eat it.
