Things You'll Need:
- Phone
- Internet access
- Computer
-
Step 1
Call a local furniture shop and see if they have a website. In fact, do this for all the stores in your area. If you can find a piece in stock you may be able to save money on shipping.
-
Step 2
Take inventory of your furniture needs. If you need to furniture shop for more than 1 item for the same room, it is best to stick to the same online store to better coordinate colors.
-
Step 3
Choose neutral colors that compliment, but don't exactly match the rest of your furniture. There are many different shades of navy blue, for example. You don't want to furniture shop for a solid colored chair to perfectly match your already solid colored love seat. Buy striped or plaid to disguise slight shade differences.
-
Step 4
Read the return policy when you furniture shop online. The sizing may be all off, or the color on your computer monitor might have made the couch a different color. Either way, you want a no hassle return policy.
