Things You'll Need:
- crock pot
- pack of red kidney beans
- salt/pepper/garlic powder
- large onion
- 2 hamhocks
- liquid smoke

Step 1
After soaking the red beans over night in a pot, pour them into your crock pot. Fill with water about an inch over the beans.

Step 2
Add hamhocks, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Chop onion and add it. Judge the amount by what your family likes. We use lots of black pepper and little salt (the hamhocks will add a salty flavor)

Step 3
Let cook on low for atleast 8 hours. Stirring occasionally. When you are about to turn the beans off stir in about a teaspoon of liquid smoke by adding drops around the edges.

Step 4
I cook sausage separately and add it to the finished product. this is optional.
