Things You'll Need:
- Pomegranates
- Knife
- Bowl
- Sink
- Towels(paper or cloth)

Step 1
Wash and CutThis is the fastest way to prepare and enjoy the health benefits of pomegranates. Most of these steps should be done over a kitchen sink with a bowl under the fruit in the sink. First wash the fruit with mild soap and rinse well. Next cut off the flowery top. (see image)

Step 2
Cut Half Then Into QuartersCut the fruit in half and then in quarters. (see image)

Step 3
Invert Then PushTake each piece and with your thumbs push to invert fruit (see images)

Step 4
Hold LooselyHold the piece over the bowl in your non-dominant hand with fingers barely open to allow fruit to fall through. (see image)

Step 5
Tap With Knife HandleBegin tapping the back of the fruit with the knife handle. This will result in the fruit kernels separating and falling through your fingers into the bowl below. (see image)

Step 6
Remove SkinSpend a little time picking out the white parts of the fruit that you probably don't need to eat (although you can if you need the fiber). (see image)

on 2/26/2009 a different way of consuming them than I am used to. Sadly it does not seem less messy. Some inventor will have to come up with a home juicer for pomegranate.
