Learn the basics of deep frying your turkey for the holidays this season. Fried turkey is not greasy but is a moist and delicious way to enjoy your dinner.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • turkey fryer (50-75$)
  • 3 to 5 gallons of oil
  • injector for marinade or a dry rub
  • meat thermometer
  1. Step 1

Prepare and season your turkey. Heat the oil in your fryer between 325-350 degrees. Heating the oil should take around 20-25 minutes.

  2. Step 2

Place your turkey in the fryer and let it fry. Fried turkeys cook fast and you can estimate about 3 minutes per pound. A 15 lb. bird would only take around 45 minutes to cook.

  3. Step 3

After the allotted time, check the temperature of the turkey with your meat thermometer. The turkey is done if the internal temperature of the breast is around 170 degrees and the thigh should be about 180 degrees.

  4. Step 4

Frying turkey is becoming very popular. Try something new this year and fry that turkey!
