Learn how to get rid of fleas residing in the carpet meant for you and your family or friends

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • moth balls
  • cheese cloth (or an old worn t-shirt)
  • pyrethrin or an insecticide aimed to kill fleas, such as diazinon
  • vacuum cleaner
  1. Step 1

First, pour the insecticide or pesticide into a glass jar. An empty jar of mustard or pickles that has been cleaned works really well for this.

  2. Step 2

Then take a handful of moth balls and add them into the jar with the flea killing solution and let them soak for 30 minutes or so.
After they've soaked thru, pour off the liquid. (It can go into a container to be used again later).

  3. Step 3

Put the moth balls into the cheesecloth or t-shirt and tie it up so they won't fall out.

  4. Step 4

Put the cheesecloth into the bag in your vacuum cleaner and vacuum your floor just like you normally would. The fleas and eggs will be sucked into the vacuum, and die from the chemical where before they would just crawl back out into the carpet and multiply !!!

Tips & Warnings
  • paying special attention to problem areas
  • vacuum every day for 2 weeks to be sure and get all the eggs before they hatch
  • use rubber or latex gloves when handling any chemicals
