Step by step instructions on how to do lots of things in CS4 (Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.) This article is for beginners and explains how to use the Selection Tool to select multiple objects in Illustrator.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • CS4 (Adobe Illustrator)
  1. Step 1
    The Selection Tool Looks Like This Cursor Arrow
    The Selection Tool Looks Like This Cursor Arrow

    Click on the Selection Tool in the Tool Palette. The Tool Palette should be in the upper left corner of your screen and the Selection Tool is the first arrow. It is displayed in the upper left hand corner of the Tool Palette.

  2. Step 2

    Click on the First Image or Object that you Want to Select. You will see the object outlined as it is selected.

  3. Step 3

    To Select Additional Objects Hold Down the Shift Key as You Click on Them with the Selection Tool. In this way you can select as many objects as you like.
