How to Add Google Analytics to Your Yahoo Store

These are my instructions for adding Google Analytics to your Yahoo store. Please note that these are instructions for adding Analytics to all pages of your Yahoo store besides your shopping cart pages. Google Analytics will allow you to learn more about the visitors to your site and your marketing efforts.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Google Analytics account
  1. Step 1

    Log in to your Google Analytics account.

  2. Step 2

    Click "Add Website Profile." Under "Choose New Website Profile" make sure "Add a profile for a new domain" is selected. Enter your Yahoo store website URL and click finish.

  3. Step 3

    A tracking code will be generated. This code needs to be on every page you want to track. Copy this code (make sure you copy the "New Tracking Code" and not the "Legacy Tracking Code.)Click finish.

  4. Step 4

    Login to your Yahoo Store editor. Click the "Variables" tab. Paste the code into the Final-Text variable. Be sure to hit update at the top of the page and then publish your site.

  5. Step 5

    That's it! Now you can log in to your Google Analytics account and start analyzing your visitors.

Tips & Warnings
  • Installing the code into your shopping cart requires additional steps.
