Learn how to tweeze your own eyebrows into the perfect shape to match your eyes.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tweezers
  • Orange Stick
  • Eyebrow Brush
  • Face cloth
  • Cotton Wool
  • Basic Moisturizer
  • Mirror
  1. Step 1

First of all make sure you are comfortable in front of your mirror. Place your mirror in a position where you can sit before it comfortably, in a position where you can easily move closer or further away as required. Comb your eyebrows into the shape they usually lie in naturally, then use the face cloth dampened in quite warm water and hold it over your eyebrows for around 10 - 20 seconds, this opens up your hair follicles to allow the hairs to be plucked easier and with less pain.

  2. Step 2

Take the orange stick (can be bought in most pharmacies or drugstores) and hold it straight up against the side of your nose, this creates your inner corner of the eyebrow shape, tweeze away any hairs that are on the inside of the orange stick (between your eyes) for that eyebrow, repeat on the other eyebrow.

  3. Step 3

Again take the orange stick to create the end of your eyebrow, hold the orange stick straight up against the outer corner of your eye, any hairs on the outer side of the stick should be plucked away.

  4. Step 4

The arch and thinness of your eyebrows are completely your choice, there is no correct or incorrect way to have them, it is totally self preference. To remove hairs from the centre of the brow always start tweezing from the bottom, closest to the eyelid, upwards. Always check after tweezing one to two hairs that your shape is progressing as you wish so as not to over tweeze.

  5. Step 5

Once the desired shape is complete, wipe over the area with the cotton wool and moisturize, do not use your fingers as you can easily deposit bacteria from your hands into the freshly tweezed follicles causing blackheads, spots etc. Allow your eyebrows to rest for a minimum of one hour before applying make up or any other cosmetics to reduce the risk of clogging the follicles.

Tips & Warnings
  • Holding a damp, warm cloth over the area to open the follicles first makes tweezing easier and less painful.
  • Using your fingers to stretch the area of skin where you are tweezing also makes it easier and less painful to remove hairs.
  • Always check after one or two hairs that your shape is how you wish
  • Use clean, dry tweezers.
  • Do not moisturize before tweezing as hairs can be difficult to grasp.
  • Avoid applying make-up or any other cosmetics for at least one hour after to prevent clogging, blackheads and spots.
  • It is always better to use sterile tweezers.
  • Over plucking can lead to embarrassing eyebrow shapes or lack of eyebrows altogether, always check your work with each pluck.
