If you have a flight coming up over the holiday, consider what grief will come if your luggage doesn't make the trip! Here's how to avoid the loss of your luggage.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Put your name on the outside and the inside of checked bags. The simplest thing to do is put a copy of your itinerary inside so the airline can locate you if the bag is lost.

  2. Step 2

Avoid late check-ins. This is the most common reason luggage is lost or delayed, especially during the holidays.

  3. Step 3

Pack valuables and important documents in your carry-on bags. This way you can keep an eye and not worry about personal information being in the wrong hands.

  4. Step 4

Make a list of everything in the luggage. If you can show the airlines the value there is no issue about the claim. Also it is suggested you take a quick snapshot with your digital camera just before you zip the zipper.

  5. Step 5

Watch to make sure the luggage tags are going to the correct destination . Make sure you have a claim slip for each.
