The eyebrow creates symmetry and weight that balances with the line of the chin. This important part of the face is improved when the brow is shaped to complement the unique shape of your face. The process to define the brow is not difficult, and can be done at home with a brow pencil and tweezers or hot wax.

    Benefits

  1. Step 1

Having messy eyebrows on an otherwise perfect face is like putting a chipped frame on a beautiful picture. It ruins the beautiful picture.
A well-shaped eyebrow is the perfect finishing touch. It looks refined and clean and makes the face look put together and finished, especially when it works well with the shape of the face.

  2. Expert Insight

  3. Step 1

To determine the best eyebrow shape for your face you will need an eyebrow pencil to "measure" your features.
The pencil should be held vertically along the side of the nose. A mark should be placed where the pencil rests on the brow bone. This should be the inner edge of the brow. Those with close-set eyes may want to adjust this measurement and make their eyebrows a bit farther apart to make the eyes look farther apart. Hairs on the outside of the mark should be tweezed.
To determine where the outer edge of the brow is, the pencil should be held against the edge of the nose and the outer edge of the eye. Where the pencil rests on the brow bone is where the outer edge of the eyebrow should be. Once again, hairs on the outside of the mark should be tweezed.
The brow should follow the natural arch of the brow bone. Hairs that are outside of the brow's natural arch should be tweezed. A white eyeliner pencil is a good tool to color the hairs that you want to keep so that you don't over-pluck or wax.

  4. Size

  5. Step 1

The width of your eyebrows should be influenced by your face shape, as well. To determine the width of your brows, consider the width of your face. If you have a large face with bold features, then your brows should be wide. If your face has delicate features and bone structure, than a thinner-sized brow would work better than a thick one.

  6. Warning

  7. Step 1

Be careful not to over-tweeze the brow. Eyebrows that are overly tweezed or overly thin are not attractive on any face shape. Thin brows should be filled in with a brow pencil that is close to the brow's hair color until the brows grow back to their natural shape.
Also, try to make sure that your brows match. If one brow is thicker than the other it should be plucked or waxed to match for better symmetry. Once again, make sure to avoid over-plucking.

  8. Time Frame

  9. Step 1

This process shouldn't take longer than one hour. Plucking the individual hairs will take the longest amount of time.
