Many people think that going green takes a lot of effort, but here are some simple ways that you can go green at the office.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Office
  • Printer
  • Recycling bins
  • Coffee mug
  • Reusable containers
  1. Step 1

Print out only what you absolutely need. Whenever you go to print something out at the office, ask yourself if you will truly need the document or picture printed out. When you do print something out, make sure that you retrieve the paper right away so you don't forget about it.

  2. Step 2

Recyle all your paper that you don't need at the office. There are several companies that will put recycling bins at every desk then will come and pick the bins up and recycle the paper. If your office doesn't do this already, look into hiring a company to do it for you, as you will be amazed at how much paper is thrown out in the office.

  3. Step 3

Reccyle your printer cartridges instead of throwing them in the garbage. Most major office supplies stores will accept used cartridges to recycle and use again.

  4. Step 4

Bring your own coffee mug to work instead of using disposable cups for coffee.

  5. Step 5

Pack your lunch in reusable containers instead of using plastic bags. This cuts down dramatically of the plastic that is thrown into the garbage.

Tips & Warnings
  • The more steps you can follow the better you are preserving the earth.
