Step 1
Try to stand straight. Heels will make your body naturally lean forward, so by straightening up, you'll counteract the pressure on your feet.
-
Step 2
When you put weight down on the foot, spread your toes inside the shoe a little, which will distribute the weight to the ball of the foot.
-
Step 3
Take small steps, going down evenly on the heel and ball of the foot. If you try to walk normally in heels by setting down the heel first and then the toe, you can snap the heel.
-
Step 4
Don't stiffen up. When you're uncomfortable in heels, you can tend to stiffen up. By swaying your hips in small, sideways figure eights, you'll get a momentum going that will make it easier to walk.
-
Step 5
Keep in mind that the farther forward the arch is, the more balanced you'll feel. Also, platform heels raise up the ball of your foot, which helps take some pressure off, because the difference between the heel and the ball won't be as great.

I don't wear heels that often but when I do,
I'll remember this.
