Things You'll Need:
- plastic bags, like the kind you get from the grocery store, bread bags, or sandwich bags, for little feet
- snowboots
- child who has played in the snow and has sweaty feet
-
Step 1
This is a Midwest trick. I was raised in snowy Iowa, where a day of sledding meant coming in for warm, toasty waffles with rich butter and thick maple syrup.
All you do is... -
Step 2
place a plastic bag on each of the child's sock-covered feet.
-
Step 3
Slide each foot into the snow boot.
-
Step 4
When the child comes in from the cold, his or her sweaty socks won't stick to the snow boots, with the plastic bags in place! Pull the child's boots off with one single motion! You won't believe how easy it is!
-
Step 5
Teach your kids to keep a plastic bag in each boot, for use at school during recess, if they play in the snow. However, you MUST BE CERTAIN your child will not place the bag over anyone's face. You can poke a few holes in the bags to ease your worries too.
-
Step 6
Make sure to dress your children in nice, thick fluffy socks for winter play. With the plastic bags over their feet, they will enjoy additional warmth too!
