CREATE A NEW DISH WITH CRANBERRIES AT THANKSGIVING

Cranberries are always on the food line-up for the traditional American Thanksgiving meal. Here is a new twist for a cranberry dish at Thanksgiving.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/4 butter
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups cranberries, cut in halves
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  1. Step 1
     

    FIRST, do not melt the butter, but cream it and add sugar. Sift together the dry ingredients. Add, together with the halved berries. Add milk.

  2. Step 2

    SECOND, pour all into a round or fancy fluted pudding mold and bake to 350 for 40 minutes. When done turn out very carefully onto a platter.

    THIRD, make the sauce. Mix 1 cup brown sugar with 1/8 teaspoon salt and 1 tablespoon flour. Add 1 cup water and stir until smooth. Add 1 tablespoon butter. Boil for 5 minutes. Stir until it becomes thick. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Voila! Pour over and Happy Thanksgiving!

Tips & Warnings
  • Careful when boiling the mix. Be sure to always keep it under a low flame.
