Step 1
Talk to your children before trick-or-treat time and set down rules so your children know what is expected of them.

Be sure that your children are not wearing costumes that they can trip on or that they may have trouble breathing or seeing through the material or mask.

Work out a neighborhood route where children will be going. Areas that are well lit and where children are familiar is always best.

Even older children enjoy this holdiay.Be sure your children know and obey traffic rules. It is always a good idea for children to travel in groups.

Children under 12 should always be accompanied by an adult or older child that is trustworthy.

Step 6
Be sure children understand they should never go into a stranger's home and only go where houses are well lit.

Step 7
A piece of paper with name, address and telephone number should be attached to costumes incase children are separated from the rest of the group.

Step 8
Assign a time that children need to be home and have some hot chocolate waiting for them when they return.
