Give your Dog a Spa Treatment
Give your Dog a Spa Treatment

Dogs like to be pampered too. Whenever I listen to my co-worker talk about her dog, I think she is talking about a new baby in the family. I have already fell in love with the dog but I haven't met him yet. One day I will have to visit him at daycare down the street from our job. ;-)

Throw your dog a spa treatment right in your own home.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • grooming glove
  • tub
  • natural or organic dog shampoo
  • organic apple cider vinegar
  • Warm water
  • a couple fluffy warm towels
  • Brush
  • Fragrance collar
  1. Step 1

Massage your dog using a grooming glove. Be careful of the areas where your dog is sensitive. A massage will relax your dog and will allow you to check her coat.

  2. Step 2

Fill a tub with warm water and natural or organic dog shampoo.

  3. Step 3

Put your dog in the tub and let him/her soak while gently cleaning him/her.

  4. Step 4

Finish with an apple cider vinegar rinse which will wash away the soap residue, prevent dander buildup and balance the skin's pH.

    Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse
    1 pint of warm water
1 teaspoon of organic apple cider vinegar

Mix water and vinegar then pour over coat. You do not need to rinse your dog.

  5. Step 5

If your dog is large have him/her step out of the tub onto a mat and dry with the warm fluffy towels. If you have a small dog you might want to place a towel on your lap and lift the dog to your lap, use the other towel to dry him/her thoroughly. Wrap the dog in the towel just like you would a baby.

Tips & Warnings
  • Brush your dog's coat daily to keep the fur tangle free.
  • Keep your dog feeling pampered with a fragrance collar.
  • Your dog will want to shake the water off of him/her so be careful.
  • Be careful not to get shampoo in dogs eyes.
  • The water temperature should not be too hot.
