It’s two days before Halloween and you haven’t done a thing to prepare for the party at your home. Here are some tips and tricks that you can use to create the best last minute Halloween party on a budget.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Halloween decorations
  • Party snacks
  • Halloween candy
  • Email account
  1. Step 1

    Decorations:

Right now is a great time to pick up some last minute decorations. Almost every craft store has all their Halloween themed items at 50% – 75% off the regular price. Take some time during your lunch break and hit the local Michael’s, AC Moore’s or party store. All you’ll need are a couple bags of fake spider webs, a jackal lantern or two, and a handful of scary plastic insects. Top it off with some low lighting, hanging witches and ghost and you’re set.

  2. Step 2

    Party Menu:

Cooking up a Halloween party menu is not as hard as it seems. If you really want to keep it simple, just set up platters with your favorite party dishes -- chips and salsa, quesadillas, meatballs and a variety of dips always liven up a party. To add a little “spooky” to your theme, use some of the spider web material from your decoration to accent the table. For a fun punch, take ginger ale and lime sherbet; mix it in a bowl adding Halloween themed ice cubes (plastic cubes with different images inside). To top off the table, surround it with Halloween candy.

  3. Step 3

    Inviting Guests:

Technology can be a life saver. So you forget to send out a handwritten invitation. Well that’s why some great person invented electronic mail. Create a quick but ghostly invitation from your email account. Send it to your friends announcing the upcoming event. You can find great free clipart online that you use in your message. If you don’t want to spend time creating your own electronic card, use an online site like Evite to help send your message. Remember to ask your guests to RSVP so you’ll know how many to expect.

  4. Step 4

    Enjoying the Event:

After you’ve spend the day decorating, putting the menu together and confirming your guests, scan your favorite CDs for the best themed music to send your party into the ultimate festive mood. I hear the doorbell ringing. Go enjoy yourself!
