Things You'll Need:
- Pita bread
- Hummus
- Zucchini, corn, olives, or other vegetables of your choosing
- Seasonings of your choosing
- Baking sheet
-
Step 1
First, preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
-
Step 2
Place your pita or pitas on a baking sheet. You can use any flavor of pita, but I specifically recommend whole wheat as a healthy choice.
-
Step 3
Next, put a thick layer of hummus on top of the pita. Use any flavor of hummus that you'd like - they all work great!
-
Step 4
Place your veggies on top of the hummus. I recommend zucchini, corn and olives, but there are lots of other alternatives to choose from as well. Peppers, tomato and eggplant are great alternatives.
-
Step 5
Season the pitas to your liking. I like to add pepper and garlic powder. Minced garlic is also delicious.
-
Step 6
Place the pitas in the oven at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. When they are done, remove the pitas from the oven. Let them cool for a few minutes and serve. These are great with a side of carrots or other veggies.
