How to turn a color photo to black and white using Corel Paint Shop Pro X2

Need to turn a color picture into black and white? It's easy if you follow these simple steps!

Things You'll Need:

• Computer
• Corel Paint Shop Pro X2
• Digital Photo
• Printer (optional)
• Photo Paper (optional)

1. 
    

   First open Corel Paint Shop Pro X2.

   Once you have the program open click file and select open. The box will come up where you can find the picture you want to work on. I like the look of black and white photos, but not all pictures will look good that way.

   After you choose the picture, highlight it, and click open.

4. 
    

   Now that you have the photo you want to work on in front of you, click on effects, then image effects, and select black and white film.

5. 
    

   When you click that a box will open. This box shows you the photo in both color and black & white. You can also make any adjustments you would like to see here. As long as you're satisfied, simply click ok.

6. 
    

   Now you have a black and white photo! Make sure you save your photo and you can print the photo if you'd like.

Tips & Warnings

• While you can turn any photo black and white, I think that photos with less objects in them turn out better.
• Make sure when you save your photo click save as and change the name so you don't save over the original photo.
