Homemade Philly cheesesteak.

Philly cheesesteaks are a favorite in my home. Here is the recipe my whole family enjoys, whether it is served for lunch or dinner. I hope that yours will enjoy it, too!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 4 French rolls
  • 1 lb. Rib-eye beef (very thinly sliced)
  • 12 cloves garlic (chopped)
  • 1/2 onion (sliced)
  • 1 large green pepper (sliced)
  • 6 ounces white button mushrooms
  • 15 ounces cheese whiz
  • 1/4 cup margarine (may substitute this with butter)
  • Extra margarine (for rolls)
  1. Step 1
    Cooking the onion mixture.
    Cooking the onion mixture.

In a pan, put the margarine, garlic, green pepper, mushrooms and onion. Stirring occasionally, cover and cook over medium heat until onions are golden brown and soft.

  2. Step 2

Add the rib-eye beef to the onion mixture. Sauté until beef is brown or you have reached your desired doneness. Remove the pan from heat and cover.

  3. Step 3

Spread thin layer of margarine on the inside of the French rolls. Lightly toast.

  4. Step 4

Heat the Cheez Whiz as directed on the jar.

  5. Step 5

Divide the beef and onion mixture onto the toasted rolls. Drizzle the desired amount of Cheez Whiz over the beef. Serve immediately.

Tips & Warnings
  • Feel free to add a little bit of water to step 2 in order to prevent the beef from sticking to the pan or browning too quickly.
