A healthy Body & Mind? Allow me to introduce to you "PRANAYAMA". A Hatha Yoga practice of breath control.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • YOGA MAT
  1. Step 1

Sit up tall in a cross-legged position, half lotus, or full lotus position. It is important that your tailbone touches the floor. Open the palms so they face upwards and take the thumbs and first fingers together. Keep the remaining fingers together and rest the back of the hand on to the knees. Drop the head slightly forwards and gaze at the fingertips.

  2. Step 2

Take a deep inhalation through the nose and slowly take the head all the way back. Open the mouth to exhale and make a swooshing sound as you exhale the breath.

  3. Step 3

Continue to exhale until you drop your chin into the chest.

  4. Step 4

Return to a perfect posture and continue to inhale and exhale through the nose for 10 counts. Repeat 5 times.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep the breath deep and even...NAMASTE!
